About the event
The Islington Climate Centre and Traid are running a Textile Repair Café at the Barbican alongside a screening of Yarn Stories, A collection of short-form documentaries connected to yarn – from dyeing, weaving, quilting, lacemaking to embroidery.
Hand repair and sewing machine fixers will be there to help you learn to repair. No bookings, it’s first come first served. We recommend arriving early to guarantee your fix, especially if you bring multiple items.
What we can do:
• Patching holes (eg jeans crotch)
• Trouser hems (I can do this reversibly for children’s clothes)
• Darning knitwear
