About the event

THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT!

It's REPAIR WEEK 2024!! Come to Islington  Fixer's Repair Party, where our volunteers fixers will help you fix your  broken electricals and electronics, to save them from waste and to  change all our relations with electronics. AND for the first time ever  we have a clothing repairer on board.

More details on electronic repair.

Are you a fixer? Sign up here: restarters.net Want an item fixed? Feel free to drop in - or book a slot via Eventbrite. We can't guarantee how long the fix will take  as it depends on the problem. The focus of the event will be skilsharing, where participants with broken items take an active role in their repair.

More details on clothing repair.

This will be a drop-in session. Our repairer,  Clara Buckens, can help with the following —patching tears, sewing up  holes, fixing ripped seams and hems, darning knitwear, swapping out  buttons, and making small tweaks, like shortening hems. If you want an  invisible fix, please bring along some colour matching thread or yarn.

Heads up!

What the Islington Fixers CAN'T fix (please do check as we don't want you to lug these items all the workshop):

  • Large battery packs e-bikes, scooters, hoverboards, etc. There's a risk of fire
  • Mains pressure washers. We don't have to space where they can be tested - (ie: outdoors with a hose pipe, etc)
  • Microwaves. They're extremely high voltage with potentially carcinogenic insulation
  • Anything that may contain asbestos as an insulated material.  It’s rare, but has happened. (Think 1930/40/50’s kettles etc.)

Find us on the first floor, next to Wagamama, Angel Central Shopping Centre, Parkfield Street, London. See you there!
