Islington Fixers Repair Party

Come to Islington  fourth Fixer's Repair Party, where our volunteers fixers will help you fix your  broken electricals and electronics, to save them from waste and to  change all our relations with electronics.

Want an item fixed? Feel free to drop in - first come, first serve. In an experiment, we'll be handing out numbered tickets. We can't guarantee how long fixes will take  as it depends on the problem - which means we can't also guarantee how long before our fixers see you. Please be patient as this is a community event. 

The focus of the event will be skilsharing, where participants with broken items take an active role in their repair. 

What the Islington Fixers CAN'T fix (please do check as we don't want you to lug these items all the workshop):

• Large battery packs e-bikes, scooters, hoverboards, etc. There's a risk of fire
• Mains pressure washers. We don't have to space where they can be tested - (ie: outdoors with a hose pipe, etc)
• Microwaves. They're extremely high voltage with potentially carcinogenic insulation 
• Anything that may contain asbestos as an insulated material.  It’s rare, but has happened. (Think 1930/40/50’s kettles etc.)
