About the event

Until the last Oak falls is a book of extraordinary unseen photographs by acclaimed documentary photographer Adrian Fisk charting early British environmental direct action protests, from 1995 to 1999, with a foreword written by award winning writer Jay Griffiths.

This compelling hardback book of photographs reminds us of those that did all they could quarter of a century ago to warn us of the dangers of environmental destruction.

Having a clear sense of the lineage and ancestry of the direct-action environmental movement helps to give strength to those who currently work tirelessly to change our present trajectory, doing so by creating the knowledge that they are standing on the shoulders of many who came before them. What was activism like back then and how can it help inspire us now? This book helps to answer this question.

Exhibition open the following times: Friday 9th, Saturday 10th, Sunday 11th from 11am to 5pm; Monday 12th to 15th, 12pm to 4pm.

About Adrian Fisk: Fisk’s work has been featured in Vogue, National Geographic, Vanity Fair, and The Economist, and has taken him everywhere from the heart of London’s 1990s rave scene, to Himalayan Maoists, into the minds of Chinese youth and into the deep South American jungle. His work has been exhibited in the Courtauld Institute of Art in London for its Biennale and in the Saatchi Gallery.
